Service levels, specifically tailored to the client's needs, are guaranteed via the supplemental agreements. These service levels are measured and reported monthly, and will be maintained for the life of the contract. If for some reason NGIT fails to meet these service levels, pre-established credits to your monthly charges are also included in the supplemental agreements.
Today, more and more businesses and
institutions are seeing the benefits of Information Technology outsourcing. It
provides lower total costs, reduced risk, easy access to the latest technology
and a staff with extensive expertise. Allowing a competent, dedicated
commercial provider to handle your information processing, storage and disaster
recovery needs also frees your organization to focus on your core mission. In

Step 1: Contact NGIT Austin Site Manager
Initially, an agency contacts the NGIT Austin Site Manager; his phone number is on the back panel of this brochure. NGIT will bring a small team of business and technical professionals to meet with your management and technicians to discuss your unique information processing requirements. Defining and understanding these requirements will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
Step 2: Develop Supplemental Agreements
NGIT will prepare a preliminary set of basic supplemental agreements, including a preliminary estimate of the cost of services. These preliminary draft schedules will then be reviewed, discussed, and revised jointly by a team of technical and business professionals from both your organization and NGIT. During this phase, NGIT will use client supplied hardware and software data (including SMF and RMF records for enterprise server environments) to validate current computing performance standards and service levels. These activities will take approximately 3-4 weeks.
Step 3: Contract Signing
Once the joint team feels they have a
mutually agreeable set of supplemental agreements, contract attorneys for your
organization and NGIT will be asked to review and approve the proposed
documents. Simultaneously, the joint technical team will develop the transition
plan for migration of your information processing to NGIT support, including
identification of the target cut-over date. This process, while generating a
living transition project plan, initially takes approximately 2 weeks.
Completion of this portion of the effort results in a contract signing customarily

Step 4: Transitioning Your Processing to NGIT Support
This process may take multiple paths, depending on the nature of your contract for services.
First, you may elect to have NGIT provide services to you by relocating your workload directly from your data center to TXSDC. This approach will occur over a 3-4 day period, beginning on a Friday, and completing on Monday. This will require testing by your technical team, as well as your end customers, to assure that all connections and environment considerations have been successfully relocated. This is the most common approach.
Second, you may elect to have NGIT assume responsibility for your information processing in your current location, and have NGIT be responsible to provide seamless relocation of your workloads to TXSDC over an extended period of time. While this is the less customary approach, it may be the lowest risk one for your environment. This is a decision for the joint team of your representatives and those of NGIT. The time-frame over which this migration can be accomplished varies with the individual needs of each client.
